TULSA, Okla. (July 28, 2003) - The American Sprint Car Series Gulf South Region is ready for its second stop of the season at Thunder Valley Speedway in Union Hill, LA, this Saturday night.

Kelly Angelette, who earned the inaugural ASCS Gulf South Regional championship in 2002, is leading the points once again this season with six events remaining on the schedule. Rookie pilot Sam Hafertepe, Jr., of Sunnyvale, TX, is 38 points out of the lead in third, with fellow rookie chauffeur Brandon Berryman of Missouri City, TX, 60 points off the lead pace in fourth.

Cody Pearson of Sulphur, LA, rounds out the current top five in points, with Tina Creswell (New Braunfels, TX), Todd Johnson (Eunice, LA), Stephen Chevallier (Downsville, LA), David Forbis (Bossier, LA) and Chris Sweeney (Huffman, TX) completing the current top ten.

Saturday night's racing action is slated to begin at 8:00 p.m. Thunder Valley Speedway is located 9.5 miles west of Glenmora, LA, on SR 113 in Union Hill. For additional information, contact the track at (318) 634-7290 or (318) 748-4470.
