Double Your ASCS Gulf South Pleasure with HOT Friday Night
TULSA, Okla. (September 19, 2005) -- Friday night offers up a rare double treat for the Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores American Sprint Car Series Gulf South Region, as the series takes to Waco's Heart O' Texas Speedway for double feature events.
The evening's action kicks off with the makeup of the feature event originally scheduled for July 15, when twenty-seven cars battled through three heat races before storms hit the 0x00bc-mile, semi-banked clay oval.
The makeup feature will be followed by a full card of heats and features for the ASCS Gulf South Region.
An impressive field of drivers are already locked into the makeup feature event, including O'Reilly ASCS National Tour shoes Travis Rilat, Tony Bruce, Jr., Sam Hafertepe, Jr., and Jake Martens. Other top contenders that will vie for a pair of Friday feature wins include Kevin Ramey, who captured two of three ASCS feature wins at Heart O' Texas Speedway last year, Jason Martin, Preston Peebles II and Claud Estes.
Current Gulf South point leader Ray Allen Kulhanek, with five series feature wins to his credit this season, could only muster a seventh place heat race finish on July 15 and will have to work his way forward from deep in the field.Kulhanek enters the night with a 104 point lead in the championship points chase over Stephen Chevallier of Downsville, LA, with Lane Whittington (Denham Springs, LA), Greg Rilat (Texas City, TX) and Scottie McDonald (New Caney, TX), rounding out the current top five.
The balance of the current top ten in ASCS Gulf South Region points includes Richard Holt (McLeod, TX), Larry Hartwell (Pasadena, TX), Greg Coleman (Hillister, TX), Darryl Wills (Deer Park, TX) and David Kulhanek (Danbury, TX).
Friday's card is slated to get under way at 8:00 p.m.
Heart O' Texas Speedway is located in Waco, TX, off I-35 Exit 343 (FM 308), then 0.6 mile north on east Frontage Road. For more information, contact the track at 254-829-2294 or 254-776-1576.
