With Five-time Feature Winner, Joe Bednarski, Wyoming, chasing leader Selinsgrove's Jeff Furlong it looked like The Action Track's Micro Sprint Feature would turn into a late-laps shoot-out. When Bednarski experienced mechanical difficulties and ducked into the pits, Furlong was left with a several car length's lead. In the post race interview Furlong, who maintained his advantage and came home first, said that he had no idea that Bednarski had pitted and was racing him all of the way. Furlong's crew gave him a good car and set-up which paid off with the win. Second across the line was the hard charging Blane Heimbach, also of Selinsgrove, with David Utt, Catawissa picking off third. Brad McClelland managed a fourth place finish, Eric Perchak from Hazelton was fifth, and Steve Lenig, another Selinsgrove resident, was sixth. Nick Lannan, Montoursville, hung on for seventh, Chris Smith eighth, while Brian Kishbaugh, Nescopeck, and Eric Heydenreich, Bloomsburg, filled out the top ten positions.

Winning three weeks in a row makes it seem Mike Keppler, Bechtelsville, has figured out The Action Track's clay oval. To maintain his winning ways will require he does it with the Micro Sprint regulars as he has reached the four win limit in the Rookie Micro Sprint division. Following to catch the fast Keppler across the finish line were Scott Lawrence, Conklin, NY, who finished second, and Dave Williams, third. Richie Mitchell, Mortonville was fourth and Eric Eckert, Bristol was in fifth position. In the sixth slot was A.J. Bast, Tower City, while Joe Uliana, Bangor, picked up the seventh place honors. The final three spots were taken by Jason Wagner, Shannon Stahl and Bob Bogart.

Pre-registration for The Greenwood Valley Action Track's Firecracker 500 Feature, scheduled for July 3rd, is a good way for competitors to save some cash. For the holiday special, the gates open at noon and warm-ups start at 4:30.
