Brown keeps momentum! Finishes 5th at Eagle with ESTS.
(April 10th, 2005 Lincoln, NE) The Wise Guys racing team with Brian Brown in the seat continued it's streak of top 5 finishes with a 5th place finish in last nights ESTS race at Eagle Raceway. The evening started with Brown drawing an unluck pill for the second night in a row and starting 9th in his heat race. Within 3 laps Brown was up to 5th and in a fierce battle with Jesse Giannetto. The two waged a side by side battle for several laps until Brown went around on the outside in turns 1-2 and took the 4th place position. Brown would use slower traffic to pass Steve King and finish in the 3rd position.
The "A" would see Brown start the #21 www.hostia.net/ Maxim Chassis/Ditzfield Transfer/American Compressed Steel car 12th the same starting position that he had won from the previous evening at Junction Motor Speedway. At the drop of the green of the 25 lap feature Brown was after it and within 6 laps had made it up to 5th and eventually would move as high as third before lapped traffic came into play. Several evasive manuevers were used as slower traffic impeeded the American Compressed Steel/Michael Ross Memorial Foundation/Weld Wheels/Rod End Supply/Yaeger's Harley Davidson #21 progress. After avoiding a near spin out Brown lost two positions in the closing laps but still managed a 5th place finish fo his efforts and the point lead in the ESTS series.
"We had the car to beat tonight no doubt about it." said Brown. "We ran hard from the drop of the green flag to put ourselves in contention at the end for the win. I made some mistakes on choosing my lines when we were in lapped traffic and that cost us. These guys are some very strong competitors and run at Eagle quite a bit so they are going to be tough. Congradulations to John Cressman he ran a great race and I knew we had to get to him early, but we just couldn't make that happen. Thanks again to Tim, Gina and Terry for giving me a great car again. I am really looking forward to this year."
