Empire Super Sprint Stars Ready for the Challenge Saturday Night at Rolling Wheels.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The final event of the 2006 nativepoker.com Tour for the Empire Super Sprints will be held this Saturday night at the Rolling Wheels Raceway Park. It what has been a Super DIRT Week tradition, the winged warriors from ESS will be a big part of the Sprint Challenge, a 25 lap affair paying the winner $3,000.
Fans from the New York State Fairgrounds as well as all over Central, N.Y. will have a special opportunity to see the very best in winged sprint car action on the half-mile known as the "Fast Track". Leading the brigade will be 2006 Overall and Canadian Invasion champion Alain Bergeron and his familiar #8B. The driver that hails from St. Pie, Quebec claimed his first ever ESS crown making for the first time ever in the 24 year history of the successful sanctioning body that the champion hails from North of the Border.
Along with Bergeron, all of the ESS stars and cars will be pit side including second place in points Jeff VanDusen, Dan Kaszubinski, Canadian Nationals winner Steve Poirier, female sensation Jessica Zemken, two-time champion Lance Yonge, Doug Emery, Jeff Cook, Bubby Kerrick, Nick Fratto, Jason Barney and many, many more looking to carry the ESS banner in victory lane.
The Challenge will also bring a who's who in sprint car talent as fans can expect United Racing Company champion and Bully Hill Nationals winner Curt Michael, past Challenge winners Rick Wilson, Kramer Williamson, ASCS Patriot champ Chuck Hebing, Bryan Howland, Dave Ely, Kevin Welsh, Greg Coverdale and some 50 more entries.
Pit gates will open at 2PM, drivers meeting and heat race draw will be at 5 PM with warm-ups soon to follow. The first heat race will kick off at 7PM sharp with upwards of six heats followed by C-Main(s), the Walt's Hobby Dash, B-Main and the 25 lap A-Main that pays $3,000 to win, $1,600 for second, $400 for tenth on down to $250 to take the green. The event is open to all sprint teams.
It's Super DIRT Week XXXV and the nativepoker.com Empire Super Sprints are once again proud to be a big part of DIRT MotorSports tradition. Saturday night is the night, Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in Elbridge is the site, winged sprint cars on a wide, fast half-mile. It just has to be excitement guaranteed!
