Empire Super Sprint Event at Fulton Tonight Falls to Rain. by Dean Reynolds

FULTON, N.Y. - For the second time in four days, Mother Nature was the winner on the Empire Super Sprint Tour 2000. Tonight's event at the Fulton Speedway was cancelled due to severe thunderstorms that ripped through the region in the late afternoon. The combination of early rain and more storm fronts on the way caused for the plug to be pulled. This marks the second year in a row that weather has spoiled the return of the ESS super sprinters to the Fulton high banks. Officials from both organizations are currently looking for a rain date. Sprint teams and fans can log on to www.empiresupersprints.com for more information. The Memorial Weekend will find the sprints off to Stateline Speedway on Saturday and then the Eriez Speedway on Sunday.
