SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- For the second consecutive year the Empire Super Sprints (ESS) first full point show will now kick off at the Ontario County Fairgrounds and the Canandaigua Speedway. After the scheduled opener at the Black Rock Speedway fell to weather, May 11th will now see the trail to the ESS Tour 2002 championship being kicked off.

Last year sophomore driver Randy Years thrilled the hometown crowd with a dominating victory. In June of last season, Penn Yan, N.Y.'s Lance Yonge made it three years in a row visiting victory lane at the fast and exciting ½ mile oval. Years and Yonge will again be in the field on the Saturday night along with seven-time ESS champion Mike Woodring, Dan Kaszubinski as well as local are drivers Rob Dietrick, Mike Stelter and Bill Coffey.
