The Sprint Stars will be out at the Fourth Annual Bully Hill Vineyards Fall Sprint Nationals on Sept . 6 & 7
DUNDEE, N.Y. -- On Friday and Saturday nights, September 6 & 7, the Black Rock Speedway in Dundee, N.Y. will come alive with wild winged sprint car action. It's time for the fourth annual Bully Hill Vineyards Fall Sprint Nationals presented by S.P. Wilson/Lakes Gas. Over $40,000 will be up for grabs over the two day event and some of best sprint car chauffeurs in the Northeast and Canada will invade the Yates County oval looking for the biggest pot of gold.
A total of 50 drivers took advantage of the pre-entry deadline which means nearly 70 cars will be expected on race day. Sprint teams are still encouraged to attend the open competition event as entries will be accepted right up until time-trials on Friday. The Bully Hill Nationals is open to any driver and car conforming to the Bully Hill 360 rules.
On Friday, time trials, heats, the Bully Hill Vineyards dash and three "Sweet 16", 16 car, 16 lap features each paying $1000 to win will make for a full night of action and it will also set the stage for Saturday. Points earned on Friday will determine the line-ups for heats as well as the D,C,B and A-Mains. The 35 lap finale will pay the Bully Hill champion over $4,000 making the event the most lucrative of it's kind this side of the Mississippi.
Heading the list of entries thus far is defending and two-time Bully Hill winner George Suprick. The Clarks Summit, Pa. star has raced most of the season with the United Racing Club (URC) as well as taking in events with the Empire Super Sprints (ESS) and the Northeastern Sprint Car Association (NSA). Suprick will being his familiar Everlast Quality Stone #87 to Black Rock hoping for the "hat trick". Also entered is seven-time and current ESS point leader Mike Woodring, the Putnam County Speedway #19 was graced victory lane three times on the ESS circuit for 2002 and he will be looking for his first Bully Hill title. Lititiz, Pa. star Billy Brian Jr. currently leads the points with URC and he will bring his Big Johnson T-Shirts backed #16 to Dundee also looking for his first Bully Hill win. Brian Jr. is a former Central Pa. 410 star and is best known for beating the World of Outlaws at Lincoln Speedway back in the early 90's.
The list doesn't stop there, also ready for battle will be Western Pa. star Mike Lutz, the former All-Star Circuit of Champions rookie of the year has spent the second half of 2002 with ESS where he has collected two A-Main victories to date. Phil Mott leads the points at the Freedom Raceway and he will bring his famed, black #5M to the Nationals. Seasoned veteran and former ESS/URC Challenge Series winner at Black Rock, Kramer Williamson, will have his fan favorite "Pink Panther" #73 tow up from Palmyra, Pa. Jeff "Spider" Thomas, currently third in NSA points, will wheel the Buzz Wilson owned #38, the Scranton, Pa. star is always a favorite no matter what event he's in. Female sensation, 21 year old Erin Crocker, is a three-time winner on the ESS trail with her Mike Woodring owned #16 as well as teenager Ashley Parlett from URC will keep the focus of all the ladies in the stands at the 4th annual event.
Not to mention, former Black Rock big block and 358 modified champion Lance Yonge, URC and Central Pa. star Dave Ely, Doug Emery, Dan Kaszubinski, Kevin Welsh, local favorite Bubby Kerrick, Pa.'s Rick Horn and a slew of other top sprint drivers have already confirmed their attendance. These names make the Bully Hill Nationals a must see event for any sprint fan.
It's the beautiful Central, NY wine country area and it will see the invasion of winged sprint cars. The Bully Hill Nationals Fall Sprint Nationals is the title and $4,000 is the prize-- It will be excitement guaranteed!!!
