DUNDEE, N.Y. - Some of the best sprint car drivers in the Northeastern United States and Canada have garnered Black Rock Bonu$ Qualifiers for the third annual Bully Hill Vineyards Sprint Fall Nationals. The $21,000 event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Black Rock Speedway located in Dundee, N.Y.

The Bully Hill Vineyards Sprint Fall Nationals presented by S.P. Wilson-Lakes Gas will showcase a super field of over 50 sprint car teams from many different organizations. Drivers from the Empire Super Sprint (ESS) Tour 2001, the Doorways Unlimited KARS Series, the VSM Abrasives Southern Ontario Sprints (SOS), the Eastern Limited Sprints (ELS) and the Freedom Raceway Super Sprints (FSS) will be on hand looking to win the 35 lap A-Main which will award the winner over $3000.

Many bonus qualifier events have been held in New York, Pa. and Ontario, Canada where winning drivers will collect and extra $100 and a special trophy if he or she qualifies for the third annual Sprint Nationals. From the ESS circuit, sophomore sensation Randy Years, R.C. Faigle and six-time champion Mike Woodring have collected qualifier wins, from SOS, defending champion Keith Dempster and exciting Warren Nahoney have won their qualifying events. Defending champion Brian Dumigan and 17 year old Justin Barger has collected wins with the ELS series and from the Freedom Raceway comes Chris Muhleisen who has won several times over the past two seasons at the 1/3rd mile speedplant. KARS has yet to run their qualifying events and there are still one more event to be run from ESS and the Freedom Raceway.

In 1999, Craig "Cricket" Keel took the Bully Hill trophy home and last season, Pa.'s George Suprick invaded the Yates County oval to become the second Nationals champion. With the cooperation from five different organizations, fans can expect a some of the best sprint car drivers and sprint car racing this side of the Mississippi.

Also, a special "Night Before the Bully Hill" will be presented on Friday night, Sept.7 when the ESS Tour 2001 puts on a 20 lap full point show to kick off a big weekend of sprint car racing. Even though this is an ESS sanctioned event, drivers from all other organizations will have their licenses honored.

Get your calendar out, on Sept. 7 & 8 it's time to mark down and come visit Central, N.Y.'s wine country area in the heart of the picturesque Figer Lakes Region. It's quiet and surreal, but for two nights the rumble and thunder of dirt track sprint cars will echo throughout the hills. It's the Bully Hill Nationals and it's excitement guaranteed!
