SYRACUSE, N.Y. - This Saturday night in East Syracuse, N.Y., the final checkered flag for the Empire Super Sprint Tour 2000 will be waved with the annual awards banquet. Over $50,000 in cash and awards will be handed out to the best of ESS for this season. Eden, N.Y.'s Mike Woodring claimed his sixth ESS championship and will be the most honored driver during the gala affair. Woodring drove the Tom and Mary Wade owned sprinter to his fifth consecutive title which was also the first for the Wade's as a car owner. A total of 20 other drivers will be bringing home awards as well . ESS would also like to welcome Shawn Keen and his Keen Fabrication and Speed Equipment from Carlisle, Pa. as an added sponsor for the 2000 awards banquet. Keen will provide $50 certificates to the top 10 in points towards any product offered by Keen. Shawn Keen was been a successful driver of 410 sprints for years but his first year owning a sprint car parts business has gone beyond expectations. Holiday Inn at Carrier Circle is the site, the Empire Super Sprint Tour 2000 Awards Banquet is the event....it's time to celebrate the ending of the Y2K season!!!
