GIBSONTON, FL - Taking his 12th win of the season, Kenny Adams won a hard fought battle with defending sprint car champion Gene Lasker Saturday night at East Bay Raceway. Adams said that he needed the win to prepare for next week's Mr. Budweiser $4,000 to win sprint car 40 lapper. Following the lead duo was Joe Melnick, Sport Allen and Roland Johnson. Allen and Johnny Gilbertson took heat wins.

The late model 25 lap feature boiled down to one of the tightest two car races of the year as Bobby Alexander nosed out Keith Nosbisch to win. Jack Nosbisch Jr. came from the back row to nab the third spot ahead of J.R. Austin and Bill Howard.

Clyde Poole won the limited sprint car main as he topped Donnie Maxwell, Gilbertson, Andy Kelley and Rick Hall. Roland Johnson escaped unharmed from a nasty first lap multiple flip.

Don Gansner won the $500 Kensington Manor Dash for Cash for street stocks and he donated $300 to injured driver Paul Davis, but had to settle for second behind Danny McCall in the feature. Charlie Paris, Dennis Lewis and Mike Kessel rounded out the top five.

David Simpson and Roger Crouse fought hard all the way to the end in the limited late model feature with Simpson holding on for the win. John Bradley, Steve Pratt and Fred Perry trailed. In the mini-stock main, the Hampton brothers battled all the way to the finish with Thomas barely edging out William. Rick Partridge finished third.
