GIBSONTON, FL - Defending champion Don Gansner won the biggest race of his career as he topped the 26-car Street Stock main Saturday night at East Bay Raceway. He won the 1998 Mr. Budweiser title and $2,500. Paul Davis led the first 21 laps but had to settle for second and $1,000 as he finished ahead of Danny McCall, Jerry Lape, Dan Darnell, Mike Kessel, Valerie Husband and Charlie Paris.

The late model 25-lap feature came down to the last lap with Keith Nosbisch edging out Donnie Tanner while Jack Nosbisch, Jr., Bobby Alexander and Ken Nosbisch rounded out the top five.

In the wild sprint car feature it was Johnny Gilbertson winning his fifth of the year over Kenny Adams, Sport Allen Joe Melnick and Paulie Milum. A multiple car accident on the fist lap made great racing from the rear of the field as all the cars involved were able to restart.

A 30 car limited late model main made for some pretty hairy racing as Roger Crouse grabbed his third win with Forrest Gough taking second over Johnny Parker, Steve Pratt and Jeff Matthews. Mike Smith won the mini-stock main over Rick Partridge, William Hampton and Devin Dixon.
