August 23, 2003 - Tampa Bay, FL. - Hammer went undefeated through the heat races and on to win the Feature at East Bay Raceway Park on Saturday night.
Starting on row 2 in the feature, Sarasota's sprint car prodigy, Hammer Martin, http://www.hammermartin.com , held off hard-charging USAC veteran Sprinter "Superman" Sport Allen and the cagey veteran Kenny "The Malabar Missile" Adams to win, even though the front wing of Hammer's new chassis was broken loose during a violent impact that occurred as the first of three cars flipped and went tumbling into the infield or blasting into the outside wall. Kenny Adams, a multi-time United Sprint Car Racing Series (USCS) National Sprint Car Champion, started on Row 7, and was within half-second of Hammer for the over fifty laps it took to get the feature completed.
In a masterful demonstration of car control for the fans at East Bay Raceway Park, www.eastbayracewaypark.com , with wing flapping wildly, Hammer turned the fastest lap of the race at 14.18 seconds to tour the 1/3 mile oval at 83.95 miles per hour. The Milk Movers Inc., Putnam County Speedway, www.putnamcountyspeedway.com/ , Martin Structures, Inc., DuiFla.com LLC Motorsports www.duifla.com , entry just returned from the United Sprint Car Series Alabama Outlaws Nationals.
