GIBSONTON, FL - Stopping an eight week win streak by the Nosbisch brothers, Bobby Alexander won the 25 lap late model main at East Bay Raceway Saturday night and Kenny Adams won his second sprint car main in a row.

Alexander caught and passed early leader Jack Nosbisch, Jr. at the halfway point and then had to hold off Ken Nosbisch over the last five laps to garner his first feature win of 1998. David Schmauss fought his way into third place ahead of defending champ Donnie Tanner who worked his way back to the top five after restarting on the rear because of a tire change. Nosbisch, Jr. ended the race in fifth.

Pennsylvania transplant Adams topped the largest field of the year in the 25-lap sprint car event. Adams earlier won the Kensington Manor $500 dash-for-cash. A tremendous battle for second place saw Paulie Milum nose out Brady Alvis, Taylor Andrews and Roland Johnson.

The limited late model division saw David Simpson survive the crash field feature to nab the win on his birthday over John Bradley, Forrest Gough, Danny Bowman and Andy Kelly.

Another battle of survival in the street stock division occurred as crashed triggered seven yellow flags during the main event that was won by Paul Davis ahead of defending champ Don Gansner.

Early leader Danny McCall grabbed third place ahead of Charlie Paris and Jerry Lape. The 97 champion Scotty Williams won the mini-stock feature over Gough and 97 rookie of the year Rick Partridge.
