DOE RUN, Mo. -- (Sept. 28, 2001) Bret Anderson was the winner of the special ^Ówingless^Ô show for the 600cc Multis at the Doe Run Raceway Friday night. Anderson held off the challenge of Casey Barnhouse of Farmington (who was once again driving the 29c of Todd Crabdree) to earn the $500 first place prize.
Vinnie Sansone finished in third place with Tom Harris fourth and Lance McKinney fifth. They were followed by Timmy Moss, Tyler Richardson, Eric Giessing, Matt Dotson and John ^ÓWallbanger^Ô Dennis.
Kary Buckley won the first heat race with Sansone second and Steve Harris third. McKinney won the second heat with Tad Roach second and Bill Reynolds third. Daniel Adler won the third heat with Tom Harris second and Tyler Robbins third. Dusin Barks won the fourth heat with Anderson second and Richardson third. Anderson won the dash with Adler second and Sansone third. Barnhouse won the ^ÓB^Ô main with Moss second and Kent Buckley third.
For the Mini Stocks it was their ^Ómechanics race.^Ô Ronnie Moser drove the #24 of Phil Norris to victory lane in the feature with Kenny Bequette (driving the #32 of Tom Bequette) taking second place. Steve Glenn finished in third place with Lester Lawson fourth and Chris Boyd fifth. They were followed by Henry Kirn, Billy Beard, Glenn Miller, David Boyer and Carl Bellew Sr.
Moser won the first heat race with Boyd second and Glenn third. Lawson won the second heat with Kirn second and Rick Patterson third. Lawson won the dash with Boyd second and Moser third.
In the Super Stock class, Sam Miller of Farmington triple crowned (winning his feature, heat race and trophy dash). In the feature Miller was followed by Jimmy Bridgeman, Kasey Burch, Kyle Jarrett and John Leahy. Miller won the heat with Bridgeman second and Kent Buckley third. Miller won the dash with Bridgeman second and Buckley third.
In the Stock Karts, Michael Harp was a triple crown winner. In the feature Harp was followed across the finish line by Brad Paquet, Bobby Ridings, Jordan Turner, Steven Dotson, Andy Moss and Joey Boyd. Harp won the heat with John Leahy second and Paquet third. Harp won the dash with Paquet second and Ridings third.
There was also a Powder Puff race for the ladies in the Kart class with Keeley Miller taking home first place, Marcy Dotson second, Kim Leahy third, Cyndi Bridgeman fourth and Kara Peppers fifth.
In the final event of the 2001 racing season at the Doe Run Raceway a Powder Puff race was held in the Mini Stock class. Stephanie Stam was the winner of the event with Sara Pullen second, Lori Harris third, Tonya Harp fourth and Melissa Whitehead fifth. They were followed by Lisa Harris, Tracey Boyd, Erin LaBrot, Penny Hahl and Dolly Lewis.
