O'Reilly ASCS adds Delta Bowl Dates

TULSA, Okla. (February 24, 2004) -- With the change of ownership of Delta Bowl Speedway in Tunica, MS, finalized in recent days, the O'Reilly American Sprint Car Series National Tour presented by Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores and United Trailers has added three more dates to the 2004 schedule at the high-banked, one-third mile gumbo clay oval.

In addition to the O'Reilly ASCS National Tour season opener at Delta Bowl Speedway already slated for March 27, the series will also sanction the Second Annual Hooker Hood Classic at the high-speed oval on June 18-19. Delta Bowl Speedway will also host the fifth leg of the Twelfth Annual ASCS Speedweek on Thursday night, July 15.

"With such a strong fan base in the nearby Sprint Car racing hotbed of Memphis and the caliber of cars and drivers this facility can draw from, I look for each of these events at Delta Bowl Speedway to be outstanding," stated ASCS President Emmett Hahn.

A strong field of close to 50 cars is expected for the O'Reilly ASCS season opener at Delta Bowl Speedway on March 27.

Set to kick off its 13th year of racing action, the American Sprint Car Series comes off its closest championship points battle in series history, as Travis Rilat edged Gary Wright by just twelve markers for the 2003 O'Reilly ASCS National championship.

The 2004 O'Reilly Auto Parts American Sprint Car Series National Tour presented by Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores and United Trailers features approximately 40 nights of racing at nearly 20 different tracks throughout Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.
