Geldart gains experience at Volusia!
(Barberville, Fl 2-15-05) The 2004 Sprint Car Hall of Fame Rookie of the Year found out very quickly that the level of competition this year is going to be stellar. Cody's first visit to Volusia in a 410 gave the youngster an eye opening as well as invaluable experience that will no doubt translate to on the track results. It was a grueling 6 nights of non stop action and the Canadian Champion loved every minute of it.
"This was AWESOME! What better way to miss school than racing with Kinser, Lasoski, Dollanski, Kemenah and the like." Geldart said. "When you run with these guys you learn things at a much faster pace because you have to. I think we showed we can run with these guys, I still have a lot to learn but this definitely got my blood pumping for the season."
The crew led by Steve Moulten and Cody's dad Brian worked non stop on keeping up with what turned out to be a very fast track. With six straight nights of racing the attrition on the Ohsweken/Hampshire Engines/Kears Speed Shop 6G kept the wrenches turning.
"The guys at Hampshire gave us great motors." said Geldart, "We are headed back to our shop to get things ready for the upcoming All Star race. They should have things finalized on the date in Mid March in Florida and we will be ready to go."
Until the team leaves for the races the youngster will be hard at it hitting the books to make up some exams and keeping his grades at the B level.
