BLOOMINGTON, IN (June 14, 2002) - As the teams prepared for competition this evening at Bloomington Speedway, four time Sheldon Kinser Memorial winner Kevin Thomas looked skyward and said, "Sheldon would never let this thing get rained out two years in a row." While we're pretty certain that Sheldon wasn't responsible, we're also pretty sure that he wouldn't like it. We didn't care much for it either.

Hot laps were over; and qualifications were just beginning when a light sprinkle of rain began to fall. The rain soon go heavy enough to halt the qualifications. Before the rain had stopped, Mike was back out on the track running it in in preparation for the resumption of qualifications. Then came a series of deluges interrupted by brief periods of light rain. It was clear that there would be no racing at Bloomington Speedway tonight.

We very much want to reschedule this event; however, the trick will be to find a date when most to the 52 teams that showed up tonight will be able to return. Watch our press releases for a new date for the Sheldon Kinser Memorial.

Show up points will be awarded to all drivers who signed in tonight.
