Non Winged Sprints, O'Neal Wood Products Modifieds, And Tire & Wheel Center Super Stocks At Bloomington Speedway On August 30 Sprint Car Points Award Presentations

BLOOMINGTON, IN (August 25, 2002) - On August 30, Bloomington Speedway will feature our three regular classes - non winged sprint cars, O'Neal Wood Products modifieds, and Tire & Wheel Center super stocks.

On August 30, before our sprint car drivers climb into their machines to seek yet another berth into a sprint car feature, they will pause to be recognized for their season's accomplishments. They have all worked very hard for the honors that they will receive; and it is just that they shall receive them.

Before the awards are presented, the drivers will sign autographs for their fans. The ideal medium for collecting these autographs is the Bloomington Speedway program. Bring your program along and have your favorite drivers sign it. If you have misplaced your program, the T Shirt stand has a few left for only $ .50 each.

When the awards have been distributed and when the competitors have congratulated each other, these same competitors will climb into their sprint cars, don their helmets, fasten their belts, and do their absolute best to outrun the same competitors that they have just congratulated. They will drive just as hard for this victory that won't count toward the championship as they did for the last victory that may have made the difference between fifth and third in the points standings. Have you seen Tony Stewart race a three quarter midget lately. He's done it this summer. It probably cost him at least a hundred times as much as he would get if he won the race; and he drove it like it was the Daytona 500.

Don't miss the last non winged sprint car race of the season at Bloomington Speedway. Nowhere is the competition as tough as it is here; and you will not have another opportunity to witness this kind of competition until next April. Don't make the wait any longer than it has to be by missing this last great non winged sprint show of the season.

The O'Neal Wood Products modified and the Tire & Wheel Center super stocks will also be in competition on August 30. It will be their next to the last points race; and they will be doing their best to improve their position in the points races as well as trying their best to outrun everybody who pulls onto the track with them.

While we always have a lot of cars in the pits, we do not schedule a lot of extra classes to fatten up the back gate. Out three regular classes are all that is needed. These guys understand that we will keep the program moving; and they are generally pretty co-operative in this effort.

Pit gates will open at 4:30 PM, the grandstand gates will open at 5:30 PM, hot laps will start at 6:30 PM, and racing will begin at 7:30 PM. General admission is $10 for this event; and pit admission is $20. Children are admitted free to the grandstand when accompanied by a paying adult. Overnight camping is permitted. Coolers are allowed; but no glass containers please. END
