BLOOMINGTON, IN (June 13, 2003) - The Sheldon Kinser Memorial is the favorite race of the season for many sprint car fans; and it is certainly one of Mike Miles' favorites. As usual, he and his Bloomington Speedway staff worked all week preparing the track for this special race in addition to the races for the O'Neal Wood Products modifieds and the Tire & Wheel Center super stocks. At five o'clock the the track was getting its final grooming in preparation for Sheldon Kinser Memorial hot laps and qualifications. Shortly thereafter it began to sprinkle. The weather radar showed only a tiny green spot over Bloomington Speedway. Everybody thought that it was just a brief shower; and the track preparation continued. However, after a few minutes, the skies opened up; and a deluge dropped on Bloomington Speedway. Within minutes it became apparent that there would be no be no action on the red clay tonight.

Although there is really nothing good to be said about a rainout at Bloomington Speedway, we can be grateful that we will not miss the Sheldon Kinser Memorial. The race has been rescheduled for June 27. Since neither the USAC Sprints or Midgets are scheduled to run that night, the pits should be full to overflowing on June 27. Don't miss this great show.

We'll be back next week with a full program of non winged sprint cars, O'Neal Wood Products Modified, and Tire & Wheel Center super stocks. Plan on joining us for another great evening at the races.
