BLOOMINGTON, IN (May 18, 2001) - Mike Miles and his Bloomington Speedway staff had the famous red clay oval prepared for the competition for which Bloomington Speedway is famous. However, a heavy rain fell Thursday in Bloomington; but the track seemed to be taking the rain well. Friday morning the skies threatened from time to time; but only light rain fell - rain that could easily be worked into the racing surface. It began to look as if Bloomington would miss the heavy rain that was falling in surrounding communities. However, at 2:20 in the afternoon, the skies opened up over Bloomington Speedway. In twenty minutes the track had gone from heavy and racy to standing deep in water. It was obvious that there would be no racing at Bloomington Speedway tonight.

Tonight's show was to have been Bloomington Speedway's King of Indiana Sprint Series race. Since there are no open dates between now and the series finale scheduled to be run at the Terre Haute Action Track on July 3, the race will not be rescheduled.

The next racing program at Bloomington Speedway will be held on May 25 (next Friday night) and will feature non winged sprint cars, O'Neal Wood Products Open Wheel Modifieds, and Indiana Super Stocks.

The points going into next week's race are as follows:
