The Kalamazoo Speedway will host the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprint Series this Saturday night. This is the second of two appearances at the ultra-fast 3/8 high-banked oval.

The first show in May had current point leader Tom Fedewa take the feature victory and rookie of the year candidate Brian Lay of Millbury OH break the all time track record.

The driver of the Katz Well drilling 20 car not only captured the win at Kalamazoo but also has won six other features this season in the first 14 AVSS events. The Ohio driver Lay broke the all-time track record at the Gary Howe owned track when he qualified at 10.928 breaking the three year old record of 10.999 set by Bill Tyler of Parma MI.

The race for the 2003 AVSS National championship continues and Fedewa by no means has it locked up yet. The second place point man Jason Blonde of Litchfield MI has four feature wins and is only 16 points behind the current leader.

The drama will continue this Saturday at Kalamazoo with a great field of cars including Tom Fedewa, Jason Blonde, Jeff Bloom, Kevin Feeney, Gary Fedewa, Brian lay, Bill Tyler, Kevin Newton, Ryan Katz, Johnboy Hotchkiss and Curt Shumaker. A field of the greatest winged asphalt sprintcar drivers are expected this Saturday night with qualifying at 4:00 and racing at 6:45. The pit gates open at noon. The Kalamazoo Speedway is located off of U.S. 131 at the D Avenue exit about three miles from the freeway.
