The Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprint Series rolls into Auto City Speedway this Saturday night with many interesting stories.

The points chase is really getting close as Litchfield MI driver Jason Blonde continues to be among the hottest racers in AVSS. The current point leader is Tom Fedewa who has won both AVSS races run at the tricky 7/16-mile oval so far this season. However Blonde had a near perfect night at Salem IN Speedway last Saturday night and has closed to within 19 points of Tom Fedewa. In the first 11 AVSS races of 2003 there have been four different feature winners. The Leslie MI driver T.Fedewa has five wins, Blonde has three, rookie of the year leader Brian Lay has two and three time AVSS champion has one.

A field of close to 30 AVSS stars is expected for the Flint MI oval this Saturday and they would include the "GASMAN" Kevin Newton of Terre Haute IN who broke the all-time track record on June 14 with a 12.90. The feature that night was also a new record when the 30-lap feature was completed in 6:50! Also expected are Jeff Bloom currently fourth in points, Kevin Feeney a three time winner in 2002, Curt Shumaker currently 8th in points, Ryan Katz, Johnboy Hotchkiss and Bill Tyler two-time AVSS champion.

The action begins with the pits opening at 2:30, hot laps at 3, qualifying at 4:30 and racing at 7. Please come see the fastest asphalt short track cars in the country compete at the Michigan action track known as Auto City Speedway.
