OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (May 29, 2003) - With an astounding 38 nights of racing already in the books for Tulsa's Shane Stewart and the Scott Chilcutt-owned #4m Sprint Car team, tops amongst Sprint Car teams throughout the country, Shane is ready to roll as the busy part of the season approaches. Shane will add to his impressive race total over the coming days as he pursues the prestigious American Sprint Car Series Speedweek championship, which features eight nights of racing over nine days, beginning this Friday at Batesville (AR) Speedway.

In "true" Outlaw fashion, Shane and the mIn Motorsports Management/Express Transit/Pro Lube Center team have divvied up the racing action among a number of the nation's premier Sprint Car series, competing with the ASCS, World of Outlaws, All-Stars and NCRA, along with several open events and a weekly show at Knoxville.

Shane and the Cox Communications/Brodix/Sander Engineering team were slated to spend last weekend competing with the World of Outlaws at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte. Inclement weather in the Charlotte area spurred a last minute change of plans, sending the team to Bolivar (MO) Speedway on Friday night in search of sunnier skies. Shane responded by kicking off his birthday celebration in style, storming to his second O'Reilly ASCS feature triumph of the season aboard the Wesmar-powered B&B Oval Products/HRP Wings Hoosier-shod MCI-chassis.

After swapping powerplants, Shane and crew took on Knoxville Raceway's 410-cubic inch competitors, where Shane notched a strong fourth place finish after starting ninth. The strong weekend proved to be a great send off for crew team member Cathy Barrows, as she and fellow team member Rob Hart anticipate the birth of their first child in less than three months.

Stepping in for Cathy will be fellow Australian Dave Sharman. Sharman has worked with Australian leadfoot Dave Murcott for the past fourteen years. Sharman joined the Banshee Graphics/Schoenfeld Headers #4m team this week and will get into the swing of things quickly with the upcoming busy schedule.

Already with 24 top-ten runs in 38 outings in fifteen different states, Shane and the team's travels during ASCS Speedweek will begin this Friday in Batesville, AR, before moving on to West Memphis, Oklahoma City, Muskogee, Ft. Smith, Paris, TX, Mesquite, TX, and Lawton, OK. Following ASCS Speedweek, Shane and team have an eye on the winner's hardware for Knoxvillle's 360 Sprint Car Nationals on June 13-14.
