KNOXVILLE, IOWA (May 24, 2003) - Travis Rilat of Forney, Texas, continues on his 'dream season' as he has just been ranked the the number one 360-cubic-inch sprint car driver in the nation by the National 360 Sprint Car Poll's select panel of manufacturers, media members, sanctioning officials and promoters. He received 10 of 18 first-place ballots cast. Rilat wheels the Archer/Threatt-owned Eagle/Snyder sprint car in Emmett Hahn's American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) competition and has several wins to his credit already in the 2003 racing season.

Ranked second in the poll is fellow ASCS competitor Darren Stewart of Bixby, Oklahoma. Stewart pilots Bobby Sparks' Avenger/Ostrich sprinter. The top seven drivers in the seasonal poll all call southern states their home and most have been racing for several months, whereas much of the northern 360 c.i. sprint car racing is just getting going for '03.

Those drivers ranked third through seventh, respectively, are Gary Wright of Texas, United Sprint Car Series (USCS) paved-track point leader Kenny Adams of Florida, Zach Chappell of Oklahoma, USCS dirt-track point leader Terry Gray of Tennessee and ASCS-Sooner Region point leader Kevin Ramey of Texas. Wright earned three first place votes, while Adams has two and Ramey one. Rounding out the 'top ten' 360 c.i. sprint car drivers in the nation are northerners Mike Lutz, Kevin Welsh and Dave Ely, respectively.

The National 360 Sprint Car Poll is an annual awards program of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum Foundation, Inc., of Knoxville, Iowa. The Advance Auto Parts Knoxville 360 Nationals are June 13-14 at the Knoxville Raceway.
