MINERAL WELLS, WV -- Dean Jacobs captured his first win of the season Saturday night at West Virginia Motor Speedway as the Haulmark All Star sprints returned to 5/8 mile oval for the first time in 14 years. Jacobs, aboard his own No. 27 Maxim with Ott power, took the lead on lap 10 from early leader Brock Mayes and fought off Chad Kemenah at the finish. His winning team is supported by Attica Raceway Park, Pike Supply, Waverly Quick Lube and Pullins Motorsports. After rain and fog delays, the checkered flag fell on the event at 4:12 a.m.

Mayes and Jon Agan made up the front row for the start, followed by Danny Smith and Jeremy Campbell. Mayes led the first three laps with Agan and Campbell following until Agan got sideways in turn two and collected Campbell, bringing out the first caution. This put Smith into second for the restart. Mayes led until he jumped the cushion on lap seven, allowing Smith to get by. But Smith's pass was nullified by a caution for Craig McGuire's stalled machine. McGuire had been running eighth.

Mayes bolted out to another big lead, followed by Smith, ninth starter Dean Jacobs and Kemenah. Jacobs got around Smith for second on lap nine, and put a turn one slide job on Mayes for the lead on lap 10. Then Smith and Kemenah followed Jacobs past Mayes before the action was slowed again when Jon Agan flipped on lap 14.

Jacobs led for the restart, with Kemenah applying pressure to Smith for second. Kemenah ducked under Smith for second a lap later. Kemenah could not catch Jacobs until the leaders got into lapped traffic. Kemenah pulled right up to Jacobs with three laps to go. Kemenah was poised to make a pass, but the lapped car of Andy McKisson got in the way, allowing Jacobs to bolt ahead again and seal the win.

Smith was third at the end ahead of Greg Wilson, Rob Chaney and Mayes.

The Crown Battery heat fell to Rob Chaney, the B&B Products heat went to Butch Schroeder, the Engler Machine and Tool heat was won by Bill Rose and Jimmy Stinson won the University of Northwestern Ohio B Main. Kemenah was the Huggins Cams Fast Time qualifier with a new track record of 16.676 seconds and captured the Haulmark Dash. Ryan Coniam took a hard flip in the third heat, but he emerged uninjured. A late afternoon rain shower delayed the start of the program by almost five hours.
