HARTFORD, OH -- A jubilant Bobby Clark thrust both fists into the air, gave out a huge yell and received high fives from his crew after the feature Saturday night at Sharon Speedway. Clark was a surprise winner in the Haulmark All Star sprint car X-1R 30 lap A main feature. The event served as opening night for the 24th annual Sharon Nationals and it was the Fremont, Ohio driver's first career All Star win.

"I hit the wall early on and though I hurt the right rear, but luckily it was all right. I owe this win to my crew. Andy Potter has the car set up just right. Coming here I would have just been happy with a top five tonight. This is great after getting third here during Ohio Speedweek," the driver of the KOT Trucking, J&J Chassis concluded. Clark had started eighth, and led only the final two circuits for the win over Dean Jacobs.

Chad Kemenah and Jeff Shepard made up the front row for the start of the feature, followed by Greg Wilson and Jacobs in row two, with Brock Mayes and Kenny Jacobs next. Kemenah shot out into an immediate lead when the green flew, with Shepard and D. Jacobs tucking in behind. Kemenah rode Sharon's inside groove on the slick and black track surface. Meanwhile, K. Jacobs and Wilson were battling for fourth. Kemenah had stretched out his advantage to a full straightaway as Shepard held off D. Jacobs. With ten laps in the books, Shepard began closing in on Kemenah and Jim Nier's flat tire on lap 13 put Shepard right on the back pushbar of Kemenah.

Shepard tried a high groove move off turn two to gain the lead and ended up ahead at the conclusion of lap 15. Following another caution, on the restart Dean Jacobs rode high around Kemenah for second and dove low under Shepard coming off turn four to take the lead. It looked like Jacobs would run away for the win, but Clark was now on the move. Lap 19 saw Clark move past Kemenah into third and he began catching Shepard. By lap 21 Clark was in second and the leader Jacobs was entering lapped traffic. Jacobs rode the low groove, as Clark utilized the top. Clark was reeling in the leader, and Lap 27 saw the top two side by side with Jacobs ahead by only a wheel. Clark gained the lead exiting turn two and once on top, he rocketed away from Jacobs.

At the end it was Clark over Jacobs, Shepard and Kemenah. John Ivy was next ahead of Dale Blaney, who came from 15th starting spot, K. Jacobs, Danny Smith and Phil Gressman.

The B&B Products heat went to Jarod Larson, the Engler Machine and Tool heat was won by Kemenah and the TP Wings heat fell to Jeremy Campbell. Paul May won the Outerwears Pre-filters C Main and John Ivy won the University of Northwestern Ohio B Main. Kenny Jacobs was the Huggins Cams Fast Time qualifier and won the Crown Battery heat.
