QUINCY, MI -- Dean Jacobs led wire-to-wire Saturday night at Butler Motor Speedway in the Haulmark All Star sprint car 40 lap A main feature. The win for the Wooster, Ohio driver was his first of the season and he becomes the ninth different All Star winner this season in the Waverly Quick Lube-Pike Supply Maxim. Randy Hannagan ended up second followed by Kenny Jacobs.

Hannagan and D. Jacobs started from the front row, with Jacobs shooting into the lead in the Ray Pullins No. 29. Fourth starting Kenny Jacobs settled into second, challenging his younger brother until Dean began pulling away in lapped traffic. Lap 13 was almost unlucky for Dean, who slipped off the rim in turn two, allowing Kenny to get right back on his rear bumper. Kenny was unable to make the pass, allowing Dean to pull away again. Meanwhile, Chad Blonde in third was furiously protecting that spot from Hannagan.

Lap 17 saw Blonde charge into the corner too hard to try and outrun Hannagan, resulting in a spin for Blonde. Dean led Kenny, Hannagan, Dale Blaney, Chad Kemenah and Danny Smith to the restart, with Hannagan first trying the high groove before diving under Kenny Jacobs for the runnerup spot on lap 19. With the leader entering heavy lapped traffic again, Hannagan could not close in on the frontrunner. Positions three through six were nose to tail and side by side as the middle laps of the race ticked by, with Kenny, Blaney, Kemenah and Smith having a good race among themselves.

The second yellow on lap 31 allowed Hannagan to restart right on the bumper of D. Jacobs, but Dean pulled away when the green replaced the yellow. Dean cruised easily the last nine laps, with a three-quarter straightaway margin of victory over Hannagan at the finish. K. Jacobs ended up third in the Rob Hunter Racing No. 2, followed by Blaney's Elden No. 22 and Kemenah's Harble No. 15k.

"The car was perfect all night. Teaming back up with Ray Pullins has been awesome since we're such good friends and the chemistry is really there," the elated winner Dean Jacobs said in his victory lane interview.

Hannagan said after finishing second, "I was in the Jacobs' sandwich the whole race!"

Kenny Jacobs said afterward, "It was great to see my little brother get the win and anytime I can race with my brother it makes it all the more worth while. The Hunter team is really getting good and I'm happy to be driving for them." He also indicated that this would be his last year driving sprint cars.

The Crown Battery heat fell to K. Jacobs, the B&B Products heat went to L. Jacobs, the Engler Machine and Tool heat was won by Ken Mackey and the TP Wings heat fell to Kemenah. Paul May won the University of Northwestern Ohio B Main. Blaney captured the Haulmark Dash and was the Huggins Cams Fast Time qualifier with a new track record of 12.327 seconds, breaking the 1999 standard of 12.660 held by Jason Blonde.
