ALL STARS HEAD EAST TO PORT ROYAL FOR BOB WEIKERT MEMORIAL
CAMARGO, IL (5-15-06) -- The All Star Circuit of Champions series is packing up and heading East into Posse country to take on the PA elite at Port Royal Speedway on May 20th. The Posse is historically tough to beat in their own back yard and they will be there to try to steal the All Star loot. Greg Wilson leads the All Stars into hostile territory as the current points leader of the series, with Brock Mayes and Chad Blonde nipping at his heels. Paul May and Butch Schroeder round out the Top 5. The PA drivers will not make it easy on the travelers, but the All Star drivers are up to the challenge and it will be another great showdown between the PA Posse and the invading All Star series.
The 30-lap event will be the 4th Annual Bob Weikert Memorial and pays $5,000 to win. Fred Rahmer won the race in 2003 and 2004 with Todd Shaffer being the defending champ of the Memorial race run each year in honor of the late legendary PA sprint car owner.
It has also been reported that four-time All Star Champion Kenny "The Mouse" Jacobs will be piloting the #55 car for injured driver Mike Wagner this weekend. The All Stars wish the best for Mike and a speedy recovery from neck injuries sustained on May 6th at Port Royal.
