O'Reilly Midwest All Star Series Prepared for Double Dose of Action
As the points battle begins to take shape, the O'Reilly Midwest All Star Series heads to two of the most anticipated venues on June 20th and 21st . Jerrod Hull held onto his lead leaving Lawrenceburg, but AJ Bruns, Ryan Bunton, Jimmy Hurley and the rest of the Best in the Midwest aren't ready to give him his second crown just yet.
Hull owns a 24 point lead over Bruns going into Spoon River Speedway in Canton , Illinois . The two battled wheel to wheel for position last weekend and the series heads to a favorite track for both. Spoon River Speedway has a rich history of fast and exciting racing and ahs become a top spot for traveling teams. Over the years fans have been delighted with some big names gracing the high banks without prior notification of their appearance.
The event will feature many exciting promotions. The local radio station, WBYS, of Canton will be on hand for a live remote and will give one lucky fan the opportunity to walk home with $2000. The radio station has been receiving an overwhelming response to their "Ultimate Experience" promotion in which a listener will receive pit passes, the opportunity to meet drivers, and will ride shotgun as the feature is paced. Prior to the event, Jeremy Standridge will have his car on display at the Route 66 Hotel and Conference Center in Springfield , Illinois , while he talks racing and signs autographs from 10am thru 1pm.
On Saturday, June 21st , the series will head across the Mississippi to Montgomery County Speedway in New Florence, Missouri. The facility boasted one of the best crowds in 2007 and it looks like it should be a repeat performance this year. Already there has been an increase of anticipation for drivers to hit "The Fastest Little Track in Missouri ." This has been a race that has been eyed by many drivers from other traveling series and local drivers alike.
Rookie superstars Kody Kinser, John Pate, and Miranda Throckmorton will be doing their best to adapt to the always fast and racy facility. All three rookies have performed well so far this season as they are all in the top 10 in points. They will be looking this weekend to improving their points as they continue to show the veterans that they can hang with the Best in the Midwest .
