SARVER, PA -- Jeff Shepard scored a dominant victory Friday night at Lernerville Speedway in the Haulmark All Star sprint car X-1R 35 lap A main feature. His second win in the Earl and David Bauman Memorial race paid $6,000 to win, courtesy of race sponsor Commercial Truck & Trailer. It was also Shepard's second All Star win of the season. Driving the Barry Jackson owned, Kriner powered JEI Chassis No. 8, he recorded the win in wire to wire fashion. Shepard also survived a close call in the heat race when he ran out of fuel on the last lap, but he coasted home fourth, with the finish good enough to transfer him to the A main, from which he started on the front row.

"I didn't feel any pressure. I didn't know how close anyone was to me," Shepard stated after the win. "I could see the scoreboard and I knew the guys behind me were good racers. I just did everything I could to keep from making mistakes. I almost ran into Jeremy Campbell over there," he concluded, as he recalled his finish over Dean Jacobs, Dale Blaney and Kenny Jacobs.

Blaney and Shepard made up the front row for the start of the A main. Following a false start when Cameron Dodson got a flat tire, Shepard jumped out to a big lead over D. Jacobs and Blaney. It only took Shepard seven laps to catch the tail end of the field and begin lapping cars. Blaney was now third ahead of K. Jacobs and Chad Kemenah. Blaney began pressuring D. Jacobs for second, and finally took the spot on lap 13. As the laps clicked off, Jacobs reeled Blaney in as they lapped cars, with D. Jacobs retaking second in traffic on lap 23. The first caution flew on lap 25 for Byron Reed's spin, allowing Shepard to free himself from lapped traffic.

After the restart, Shepard pulled away from D. Jacobs, with Blaney holding off K. Jacobs for third. Tenth starting Greg Wilson was now fifth and began challenging K. Jacobs for the fourth position, but he could never get by.

Shepard stretched his lead until the checkered flew, with D. Jacobs finishing a full straightaway behind.

"About the middle of the race I though a tire was flat," Jacobs said after finishing second. "But the right rear shock fell off and that didn't help us a whole lot." His runnerup finish came in Guy Webb's No. 51.

Blaney was third ahead of K. Jacobs and Wilson. Kemenah crossed the line sixth, followed by Danny Smith (who started 12th), Ed Lynch Jr, Jim Nier and 14th starter Kelly Kinser.

The Crown Battery heat fell to Jon Agan, the B&B Products heat went to Bill Rose, the Engler Machine and Tool heat was won by Dean Jacobs and the TP Wings heat fell to Byron Reed. Andy McKisson won the Outerwears Pre-filters C Main and Kelly Kinser won the University of Northwestern Ohio B Main. Greg Wilson captured the Haulmark Dash and Kemenah was the Huggins Cams Fast Time qualifier.
