ALMA, OH - Kevin Huntley roared around Phil Gressman and cruised into victory lane Wednesday night at K-C Raceway in the All Star sprint 30-lap Ohio Speedweek feature. His first win of the season, in Bev and Denny Ashworth's Eagle Chassis with Kriner-Chevrolet power on Hoosier Tires, was worth $5,000 and Huntley is the fourth different winner in four nights of the 18th annual Ohio Speedweek. " We've been struggling real bad," Huntley recalled. "And we went back to the old car tonight (after crashing the new one Tuesday) and set it up almost identical to what we had it last night and it performed awesomely. I owe a lot to Andy Potter and Rodney Duncan, They've been real helpful in sharing what they do to their race car with me. It kind of cost them a little tonight cause if they wouldn't have helped me I wouldn't have won the race and they would have." Huntley started on the ButlerBuilt Hot Seat pole with Gressman alongside him. Gressman took the initial lead in the high groove with Huntley second and Mark Keegan third. Huntley tried several slide jobs to get past Gressman, but Gressman's high groove momentum kept him in the lead. By lap five, Kenny Jacobs had moved up to fourth with Duncan fifth after starting eighth. Huntley used another low groove move in turns one and two to get under and beside Gressman going down the backstretch. He dove under the leader entering turn three, and emerged with the lead at the flagstand on lap six. From then on, he maintained a quarter of a lap lead through heavy lapped traffic. With a dozen laps in the books, Duncan was up to third and challenging Gressman. After two laps of running side by side, Duncan secured second and held that spot when the only caution appeared with 20 laps in the books for Greg Wilson's spin off the backstretch, moving him from seventh to the back of the pack. At the same time, Kasey Kahne, who was eighth, stopped with a flat tire, and changed it, returning to the rear of the field. Huntley pulled away in the high groove following the restart, again pushing his advantage to a quarter lap, maintaining it to the end. Duncan rode home second with Jacobs third. "We didn't have anything for him," Duncan said of his second place run. "After the yellow, I don't know if my tire sealed over or what, but we were just maintaining. Kevin's like a brother to me, he deserves to win this race." Gressman held on for the fourth spot with Mark Keegan fifth. Ninth starter Danny Smith in sixth earned the $100 TW Metals nightly cash bonus while Jim Nier finished seventh, winning the Team Simpson Racing Lucky Seven award. Kelly Kinser started 24th and drove a fine race to finish eighth in his usual low groove style over Chad Kemenah and Alvin Roepke. Rob Chaney qualified third quick, but failed to make weight after time trials, thus he would be put on the tail of each race all night long, so he loaded up and went home. The heats went to Kenny Jacobs, Greg Wilson, Alvin Roepke and Nier. Kinser won the Georgia Marketing & Promotions B Main after starting last following an engine change when his car would not fire in time trials. Wilson also captured the Commercial Truck & Trailer Dash. Steve Suever took a violent flip off turn three into the parking lot catch fence in hot laps. He was knocked out in the accident, but was conscious when removed on a backboard. He refused a trip to the hospital. Frankie Kerr missed the evening's event when he was involved in a highway accident en route to the speedway, totaling his tow rig. <pre> Time Trials: 1. Kenny Jacobs, Jacobs/Honecker 6, 11.690; 2.
