Jacobs looks towards Eldora/All Stars
ROSSBURG, Ohio (June 25) -- For years, Kenny Jacobs has been the 'ruler of the roost' when it came to All Star Circuit of Champion Sprint Car racing at Eldora Speedway and the Holmesville, Ohio chauffeur would like nothing better than to continue that tradition this Saturday night. Of the 104 All Star races contested to date at Eldora, Jacobs has ruled supreme in 20 of them, allowing 32 other drivers to share the balance. Even more impressive about Jacobs' consistency is the time span which reflects his dominance. Since his first victory in 1984, Jacobs has only failed to cruise into victory lane in 5 of those 17 years.
However, the competition is getting tougher when it comes to All Star Sprint racing.
Going into Saturday's chase, Jacobs sits an uncomfortable second in the series points chase, with Chad Kemenah on top of the heap. Jacobs is trying desperately to defend his 1998, 1999 and 2000 titles and add to his 90 career All Star wins.
Of the 20 All Star races completed thus far into the 2001 campaign, 15 different drivers have scored wins and Jacobs as but one single win to his credit.
His confidence level is always at its peak when Jacobs invades Eldora Speedway and he his hoping that Saturday's invasion will help him turn the corner and catapult him back to top of the All Star Sprint standings.
Joining the All Star Sprints Saturday as Eldora celebrates its 47th Anniversary will be the Modified and Stock Car divisions, with racing at 8:00 PM.
