PONCE INLET, FL - Stanley Kolan, owner of East Bay Raceway in Gibsonton, announced that a special All Star Sprint non-qualifiers dash will be contested each night of the upcoming 25th anniversary East Bay Sprint Nationals Feb. 14-17.

Each dash has a posted $3,000 purse, paying the winner $1,000 with the next nine spots earning $500, $350, $250, $225, $200, $175, $150, $125 and $100. The dash lineup will be luck of the draw, with all drivers not qualifying for each evening's A Main eligible for the dash. In addition, if the previous evening's dash winner is also a non-qualifier and his name is not drawn for the dash, he will be added to the back of the dash field.

With the receipt of pre-entries from Tim Shaffer of Aliquippa, Pa and Kurt Winker of Pleasant Prairie, WI, a total of 86 drivers from 22 states now comprise the East Bay pre-entry list. This strong turnout of drivers has Stanley Kolan talking about paying $26,000 to win next season for the 26th anniversary Nationals.

"This is the most pre-entries we've had for the East Bay Nationals for the past two decades," stated Jean Lynch, All Star Florida Speedweeks coordinator. "We're excited and looking to a great four days of very competitive racing with everyone gunning for Saturday's $25,000 winners check."

Also at East Bay, the traditional practice day for sprint car teams is slated for Tuesday, Feb. 13 from noon until 2:00. Kolan's free barbecue for all drivers, race teams and crew members is set for Thursday afternoon this year, starting at 1:00 p.m. on the 15th.
