CAMARGO, IL -- A pair of new tracks this year return to the 23rd annual All Star Sprint Speedweek schedule. The week of speed is sanctioned by the Haulmark All Star Circuit of Champions. For the first time since 1999, All Star Speedweek returns to the Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio for a Monday night event. Raceway 7 in Conneaut, Ohio also returns to Speedweek for the first All Star race there since 1994.
Speedweek is run at eight nights at eight speedways all across the state of Ohio. The week this year kicks off at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH on Saturday night June 25. Race two is set for Sunday night June 26 at Attica Raceway Park located at the fairgrounds in Attica, OH
Action moves to Muskingum County Speedway at Zanesville on Monday night, June 27. Tuesday, June 28 Raceway 7 in Conneaut, OH hosts the action, then Wednesday, June 29, the tour swings over to Sharon Speedway in Hartford. The June 30 show on Thursday heads over to Fremont Speedway at the Sandusky County Fairgrounds in Fremont, OH. The high banks of Limaland Motorsports Park will host the holiday weekend Friday night July 1 activities, with the K-C Raceway (Chillicothe, OH) Saturday Speedweek wrap-up show July 2.
With a long and storied history, the list of past All Star Speedweek champions reads like a who's who of sprint car racing. Champions include Bobby Davis Jr., Steve Kinser, Jack Hewitt, Bobby Allen, Keith Kauffman, Jimmy Sills, Dave and Dale Blaney, Sammy Swindell, Kevin Huntley, Frankie Kerr, Joey Saldana, Kenny and Dean Jacobs and Chad Kemenah.
Because the Speedweek is open to all cars that meet All Star specs, drivers may choose to run one or all nights. Close to 50 cars are expected nightly with a complete show of time trials, qualifying heats, a dash and a C, B and A-Main feature at each track. Overnight campers are welcome at all facilities.
