PONCE INLET, FL - With eight nights of racing and over $245,000 in prize money posted, the All Star sprint car series is preparing for Florida Speedweeks 2001. For drivers wishing to participate, pre-entries are free at each track before Jan. 15, 2001. An entry fee is charged afterward. Action commences Thursday through Sunday Feb. 8-9-10-11 at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, FL (20 min. west of Daytona Beach). Four complete shows are scheduled, with $4,000 to win the first three nights and $7,000 to win on Sunday. Free pre-entry for sprints by 1/15/01; $50 after that date. Next, Wed. through Saturday Feb. 14-15-16-17 (with Practice & Media Day Tues. Feb. 13), the series moves to East Bay Raceway for the 25th Annual Winternationals. The track is located in Gibsonton, FL (5 miles south of Tampa). Four complete shows are scheduled, with $4,000 to win the first three nights and $25,000 to win on Saturday, plus special dashes and bonuses.
