CAMARGO, IL - The All Star Circuit of Champions sprint car series has posted an ambitious 61 race schedule for the 2005 season. A total of 48 races are confirmed at speedways in seven states, with another 13 race dates to be released as soon as signed contracts are received in the All Star office.
New to the schedule this year are four tracks, the Sand Mountain Speedway in Ft. Meade, FL (March 18-19), the Owensburg, Indiana Speedway (July 3), the Brush Creek Motorsports Park in Peebles, OH (July 9) and the Fowlerville Fairgrounds in Fowlerville, MI on August 6.
Returning to the All Star schedule after several years' absence are five tracks. Ohio Valley Speedway (Sept. 9) near Parkersburg, WV last hosted the All Stars in 1991 when Lee Brewer, Jr. sat in victory lane. A Raceway 7 (June 28) visit to Conneaut, OH in 1994 saw Kevin Huntley win the feature and Greg Hodnett won the last Williams Grove (June 10) event in 2003. Skyline Speedway in Stewart, OH (July 8) last ran an event in 1998 when Kelly Kinser won there, with Paul May taking the last Benton, MO (July 22) feature in 2003.
The season opens with a four day show at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida Feb. 8, 9, 10 and 12. Other mainstays of the All Star schedule include the Attica Raceway Park Spring Nationals April 15-16, the Sharon Nationals September 2-3 and the Lawrenceburg Speedway Hoosier Fall Classic Sept. 16-17.
Ohio Speedweek is set for eight nights of action starting June 25 at Eldora followed by Attica June 26, Wayne County June 27, Raceway 7 June 28, Sharon June 29, Fremont June 30, Limaland July 1 and the finale at K-C Raceway July 2. The annual Thunder Through the Plains Tour, the week following the Knoxville Nationals, will be held once again, with the tracks participating to be announced later this season.
Limaland also hosts a show April 22, with Eldora on tap April 23 and Aug. 4. St Francois Co. Speedway in Farmington, MO (April 30, July 23), Fremont (May 7, Sept. 10), K-C Raceway (May 14, Aug. 27), Hartford Speedway Park (May 20, Aug. 26), Butler Battlegrounds (May 21, July 30), Attica (May 27, Sept. 5), Wayne County (May 28), Lincoln (June 11), West Virginia Motor Speedway (June 17), Port Royal (June 18) and Lernerville (June 24, Sept. 23) will also host events this season.
