Sodus, NY - In June, Billy White (Sandisfield, MA) captured the Woodard's Concrete Products Central New York Mini Sprint (CNYMS) feature at Accord (NY) Speedway. When the tour visited the tight ¼ mile oval last Friday, he was again the man to beat, as he bested the field for his second tour feature win in a row at the facility. Darell Quackenbush (Vernon, NJ) and Bobby Scaccio (Suffern, NY) led the field to the feature green.

The pole sitter took the early lead, and White began to move up from his fourth starting position. A series of caution flags, including one when Quackenbush's motor let go, kept the field bunched. White was able to take the lead from Scaccio and held on to take the checkered. Mike Emhof (Sodus, NY) moved up from his seventh starting position to take third, tour points leader P.J. Peworchik (Binghamton, NY) came home fourth, and Bruce Brown (Clarks Summit, PA) rounded out the top five.

Heat race winners were White and Scaccio. In addition to the winner's purse, White took home the Farrell Oil contingency product award. A Seymour Enterprises gift certificate was awarded to Peworchik, and Tom Richard (Tolland, CT) won a cash bonus for the highest finishing 750 cc machine.

The feature finish at Accord tightened up the CNYMS tour points standings, and has set the stage for the tour's season finale at Penn Can Speedway next weekend. This will be the first CNYMS visit to the Susquehanna, PA, facility this year. Race dates earlier in the season were postponed because of rain, and despite the efforts of track promoters and CNYMS officials, the dates could not be made up.

Peworchik remains the tour points leader. With their finishes at Accord, Emhof and Scaccio moved past Paul James (Albany, NY) into second and third places respectively, and slightly closed the gap on the series leader. Peworchik holds a 51 point lead over Emhof, and only eleven points separate Emhof, Scaccio, and James.

All four drivers have a mathematical chance of winning the series championship. The Rookie of the Year honors are also up for grabs. That chase is led by 14 year old Cory Sparks (Scotia, NY), but Bill Jaycox (Cobleskill, NY) is only 49 points behind.
