KNOXVILLE, IOWA (November 13, 2003) - The names of the nominees for the 2003 National 360 Sprint Car Poll post-season awards were released today by poll founder and coordinator Tom Schmeh. The select 20-member voting panel, representing media members, manufacturers, promoters and sanctioning officials, is currently in the final balloting process, and the names of the 8 award recipients will be revealed by co-emcees Dave Argabright and Pat Sullivan at the National Sprint Car Poll awards reception at the Westin Hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Thursday evening, December 4.

The nominees for the 2003 National 360 Sprint Car Poll post-season awards are as follows:

Driver of the Year: Kenny Adams, Dave Ely, Terry Gray, Travis Rilat, Gary Wright.

Team of the Year: Donn Goodson, Richard Lovell, Gary Wright.

Rookie of the Year: Kyle Patrick, Ricky Stenhouse (Jr.), Brad Sweet, Josh Weller.

Builder/Manufacturer of the Year: J.V. Brotherton, Bob Newton, Don "Bug" Ott.

Media Member of the Year: Doug Auld, T.J. Buffenbarger, Allan Holland, Lonnie Wheatley.

Promoter of the Year: Tracey Clay, Craig Cormack, Bob Miller.

Wild Card Award (for exciting sprint car performances): to be determined.

Outstanding Contribution to the Sport Award: Doug Auld, Fred & Debbie Brownfield, Terry McCarl/Bill McCroskey, Kevin Miller, Tony Stewart.

The National Sprint Car Poll awards reception, including the announcement of those that will be formally inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame on Saturday afternoon, June 5, 2004, in Knoxville, is being held in conjunction with the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show.
