DOLBY TO HAVE EXTRA SUPPORT FROM ANDERLECHT FOR ZOLDER ROUND
RSC Anderlecht's Superleague Formula star Craig Dolby is set to make a guest appearance at Constant Vanden Stock Stadium next Friday night to see his football colleagues take on Excelsior Mouscron.
However, the football stars of the Belgian squad will also return the favour on Sunday - the entire team including coach Ariel Jacobs are headed to Zolder to cheer on the 750 horsepower purple Anderlecht Superleague Formula machine.
Dolby stunned the championship at the latest round at the Nuburgring, finishing second in the opening race behind AC Milan's Robert Doornbos and then storming from the back of the grid in the reverse grid race to also finish second in race two - this time behind Dutch rival Yelmer Buurman from PSV Eindhoven.
The huge points haul also launched Anderlecht up the Superleague Formula "premiership" table to fourth overall.
Dolby is eagerly awaiting the chance to meet his Anderlecht "team-mates" next Friday and also be introduced to the loyal club fans.
"I'm still in a bit of a state of shock after the weekend - I haven't been able to wipe the smile off my face," Dolby said.
"The result was great for Anderlecht and the perfect preparation for our home race in Zolder. I've raced there in the past and I'm really looking forward to trying the Superleague Formula car there - it should be really impressive over the back part of the course.
"My confidence is really on a high now and I certainly have my sights set on having another great result next weekend."
On the football pitch, RSC Anderlecht has made another great start to the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, sitting at the top of the table after five games. Next Friday's encounter against Mouscron should be a fiercely competitive fixture between the Brussels-based league leaders and the Walloon club.
"I'm really looking forward to going to the match - hopefully many of the fans will also join the players in coming out to Zolder as well," Dolby said.
"Having the entire football team at the track will be another huge confidence boost for me - I'm really looking forward to that.
"To finish behind Yelmer and PSV at Nurburgring was great, but next weekend I will be out to reverse that result. There should be a lot of Dutch fans on site as well, but we will be on Belgian soil so I will be out for the win."
