Ho-Pin Tung 7th and 9th in Donnington edition of Superleague Formula

'A podium should have been possible,' Ho-Pin Tung commented after a partly wet race weekend at the legendary circuit of Donnington Park in England. The Dutch-Chinese racing driver, employed by the team of Atletico Madrid, had to wait until his car was ready during qualifying. By the time his car was ready the rain came and he had to settle for 13th place on the grid for the first race on Sunday. He finished 9th. 'In the second race my pit stop had to be delayed due to problems with Enrique Bernoldi's car. We share one pit crew with three cars, so I had to stay out for three extra laps. Then I found my self stuck behind slower cars and I lost considerable time.' Prior to his pit stop in the second race Ho-Pin Tung was ahead of the later top three finishers, which shows how close the rostrum was by for Ho-Pin Tung.

'The speed was there, the car was very quick, I had good and successful fights in race 1, which brought me from 13th to 9th place. In the second race I started 9th and at the end of the first lap I was 8th.' In Sunday's second race Ho-Pin Tung managed to do the third fastest lap time. 'Despite the delay at the pit stop I finished 7th, proving that I was very fast,' said the young racing driver on his way back from Donnington to Velp in Holland, where he lives. 'At Estoril we will go for a better result, we can do it, I am sure.'
