WINNING TEAM TO MANAGE FC MIDTJYLLAND
FC Midtjylland entry into this year's fast approaching Superleague Formula race series will be managed by top race team Hitech. Last season British-based Hitech underlined its expertise by winning three of the Superleague showdowns for Liverpool and FC Porto as well as taking Liverpool to fourth place in the final points table behind champions Beiing Guoan, PSV Eindhoven and AC Milan.
"FC Midtjylland is a really exciting new project for us because it's a small club," explained David Hayle, team director vat Hitech. "With Midtjylland we are creating a ‘David and Golliath' situation as one of the smallest of the football clubs competing takes on some of the sport's top giants. That's why to get results with FC Midtjylland would be fantastic."
FC Midtjylland has announced local Danish driver Kasper Andersen will be in its hot-seat. As a warm-up for the new season - kicking off in Magny Cours, France at the end of June - Andersen is currently contesting the opening few rounds of the 2009 Formula Master series with Hitech.
"Kasper hasn't driven a race car since the last Superleague race six months ago," explained Hayle. "We are doing these races together to help him to build a relationship with the team and to get him into the best shape we can in the run up to Magny Cours."
"I'm doing the first three Formula Master races to help me to get to know the team," confirmed Andersen. "I saw what Hitech achieved last year and I've got to say I was impressed. For sure the aim is to win races in 2009. What could be more exciting; the car is the best I've ever driven and I'm back in Superleague with a top team representing a Danish soccer club. It's a dream come true for me to be racing for Midtjylland - the people are so enthusiastic and it's a real pleasure for me to be working with them."
