Vildosola Racing ready to come back; The Emblematic Red & White TT#4 reports to be ready to run next week race
After a long off-season, the Mexicali based team of Gus and his son Tavo Vildosola, report they are ready to compete in the most prestigious and competitive race of this 2008 season, the SCORE Tecate Baja 1000 that runs next week. Working very hard on the final details of this race was the entire Vildosola Racing staff is tighten all nuts and bolts of his race plan for this event.
The team marked some changes and new additions and upgrades to the Family Ford F-150 marked with the number 4, with a mid field start on the 18th position, the team knows they need to make great pit stops and run his plan like clock work. Some of the advantage for this race will be in part that almost half off the race are going to be on the western and northern side of the peninsula, mainly in Mexicali when much of the team comes from.
Tavo says. "The race is going to run again close to home (Mexicali) that will be really and advantage for us, this race are going to happened in our backyard, we grow riding bikes and racing cars on the Mexicali and San Felipe deserts since I was a kid. We did our homework and we practiced a lot, we know our competition are going to be tough, last year my dad have a great start in the race and he gave me a good and clean truck for my section, now we think we can do it again and keep going until we get a good chance to win the race, then we can relay in our pit strategy and make the plan work.
Vildosola Racing comes from a good start off the 2008 season, they won the first day of the inaugural race or the year, The Laughlin Desert Challenge, leading the second day, for most of the half of the race, Vildosola has some engine problems and stopped his quest for the win of this race, in San Felipe two months latter. After some small issues and some flat tires, Vildosola finished in the fourth place.
Now with added support of new sponsor Red Bull, Vildosola racing hope to make a great run, the race will be only about 635 miles long, on a loop format, crossing almost every part of the north section of the Baja Peninsula, SCORE international who its the race organizer, set up a great race and with out doubt the entire race course will be covered with friends, fans, family and crew who are expecting to see the first win of the Vildosola Racing Trophy Truck in this race.
Gus Vildosola owner and driver of the team also reflected on this: "A Baja 1000 overall win always are in our minds, since we moved to the trophy truck ranks that's our goal, we worked very hard and each time we came more close, last year we have a clear shot for the win, until some small problems slowed down us on the last section of the race, now we came better, stronger and now with the additional support of Red Bull and our long time sponsors only we can say, we can win, see you at the checkered flag.
