Armin Schwarz Newsletter 21 January 2008
We start into the new year flat out and I am happy to have some great news for you: Soon your will be able to send us your best off-road racing or rally video (please only off-road racing or rallying). We'll have a look at the videos and put them on my website. So everybody visiting my website can see your video! I am very excited about this new feature, and I can't wait to see your footage. We will inform you as soon as possible when the video upload is ready to use on our website.
And I am very proud to tell you that we will have prominent motoring journalists as well as racing colleagues and technology partners writing for my website - that's going to be very entertaining and interesting. If everything goes according to plan we'll have the first guest writer here end January.
For me it's high time to grab my bag and fly to the US. From the 24th to 27th January the first race of the Score Off-Road Racing Series is on the calender. We'll tackle all six races with All German Motorsports. Team principal Martin Christensen and his navigator Chris Aimes will drive one Buggy. I'll drive the other car with Bryan Little show ing me the way. We plan to start at all six races:
24 to 27 January: Laughlin Desert Challenge
This race based in Laughlin/Nevada is entirely new for me. It's a real sprint event with one 70 mile heat on Saturday and the second on Sunday. There's only one way to approach this race: flat out right from the start.
14 to 15 March: Tecate Score San Felipe 250
Vast stretches of the course are new for me. But I know some parts from my first Baja back in 2006 - might be helpful, but the terrain can be changed considerably by wind and rain.
30 May to 1 June: Tecate Score Baja 500
Alright, this one I know! I did the first 430kms of this race last year. Matthias Kahle and I finished fifth in our class.
14 to 17. July: Las Vegas Terrible's Cup II
This is the mega show event of the Score Off-Road Racing Series. It has the mightiest jump and offers an unbelievable show for the fans. The Herbst brothers - they are racers and team owners themselves - promote this big show, where I will start as a rookie ...
5 to 6 September: Las Vegas Primm 300
We just missed the podium in 2007 finishing fourth. This year we definitely have to make it to the top three.
19 to 22 November: Tecate Score Baja 1000
This year the Baja 1000 is a big loop with the start and finish in Ensenada. Only ev ery second year the course goes down all the way to Cabo San Lucas in order to make things not too expensive for everybody involved. My Baja 1000 last year was clearly too short. But this year we'll have the experience of almost a whole race season which will hopefully put us in even a stronger position to achieve a very good result.
My next newsletter will come out end January with my report from the first race of 2008.
Until then, best wishes,
