LAKEVILLE, CONN. (July 5, 2004) -Marc Walker, of Oldsmar, Fla., won Round Six of the SCCA Sportscar Championship, part of the Cooper Tires Championship Series, at Lime Rock Park. Completing the top-three is Neil Tilbor, of New Smyrna, Fla. and Robert Mumm, of Hales Corner, Wisc.

Starting on pole for the second consecutive Sportscar race, Walker got a good start to hold off a determined Tilbor. Behind the lead duo, Mumm, in the No. 10 Autostuff Inc SCCA Sportscar, had contact with another car at the start, spinning to a halt on the front-straight. Suffering only minor damage, Mumm was able to rejoin the race at the back of the field, as the full-course caution was displayed. On the lap five restart, Tilbor, in the No. 8 Team Edge R/C SCCA Sportscar, appeared to be in position to take the lead, but was unable to make the pass for position. Setting the fastest laps of the race, Walker quickly began to build a gap on second place. By the midway point of the race, Walker had established a lead of over 10 seconds, as Tilbor and Mumm battled for position. On lap 25, of the 30-lap race, Walker's lead evaporated, as the second full-course caution was displayed. Getting a good restart, with two laps to remaining in the race, Walker ran uncontested to the checkered flag. Leading every lap, Walker captured his second career SCCA Sportscar Championship win by 6.638 seconds.

"That was a lot of fun," said Walker after the race. "The restarts were interesting, as Neil's [Tilbor] car has better torque. I'm looking forward to some more great races at Mid-Ohio in August."
