GOODYEAR NOTES

RACE 9, SSC
Best finish: Ali Naimi, 11th
Goodyear champions: 4
Goodyear podiums: 12

RACE 10, FORMULA 500
Best finish: Rusty Cook, 5th
Goodyear champions: 4
Goodyear podiums: 12

RACE 12, T1
Best finish: John Heinricy WINS the national championship. It is his second in as many years. Both wins came on Goodyear tires. He set a new track qualifying record and a track race lap record as well.

Heinricy: "I felt very comfortable on the track, just like I did last year. The thing was quick. When I get into a pace out here, it's kind of like an endurance race, even though it's only a 20-lap race. You're going to have to pace your self for the whole race. When you've got a car that's just working great for you, then you just get in that pace and go."

"The Goodyear tires were really great for the whole race. They were good at the beginning of the race and they held up all the way through...They were just consistent from beginning to end. We bedded them in last week, ran them one more time this week so we had a couple heat cycles on them."

Goodyear champions: 5
Goodyear podiums: 13

RACE 13, FORMULA FORD
Best finish: Chris Winkler finished second after starting eighth and Thomas Schweitz took third after starting seventh.

Winkler: "They (his tires) were fantastic. The combination of chassis and Goodyear tires was just super. Heck, the first turn, I picked up four positions, they stuck so well."

"(At the end of the race) The track was greasy, but the car was great. The tires were there. The tires were there at the start and they were there at the end."

Schweitz: "My tires were perfect. From first lap to last lap they worked great. The car setup wasn't quite as good as it should be on the first lap, before I started. But the tires, well, I could have gone another 30 laps, that's how good they were."

Goodyear champions: 5
Goodyear podiums: 15

RACE 14, GT2
Best finish: Duane Davis WINS the national championship, his seventh in GT2 and 12th overall. David Finch is second and Bill Reid is third. Davis set qualifying and single-lap race records this week.

Davis: "Goodyear just makes a great tire. It's as durable as heck, it just goes on and on. It's as good at the end of the race as at the beginning and I think that's a credit to the radial tire.

"We were testing last week on tires we raced on here last year at the Runoffs. They were a year old and had a dozen heat cycles on them and we were turning laps in the 31s (seconds)."

Goodyear champions: 6
Goodyear podiums: 18

RACE 15, G PRODUCTION
Best finish: Kent Prather WINS the national championship, the fourth of his career. Mark Dennis finished second and Karl McColl took third.

Prather: "I knew I had to set my car up for the 430 (compound)...I'd been running 430s all season and the 430 just sticks with you. If you overheat them, you can cool them back off. They're just wonderful tires."

Goodyear champions: 7
Goodyear podiums: 21

RACE 16, D SPORT RACER
Best finish: Mark Jaremko WINS the national championship after spinning early in the race. Pole sitter Michael Reupert takes second and Damon Anderson finishes third after starting 11th in his first Runoffs appearance. Of the 30 cars in the race, only three had Goodyear tires and they all finished at the front.

Jaremko: "The car is so new and we have so little time in it that we figured we'd better go with the (harder compound). We just didn't know how the car was going to use tires. We didn't have a lot of down force."

"The harder compound gave me a tire that I could just punish and it would never go away and it would never change."

Reupert: "The tires were really good on restarts, I knew I could really go quick."

Anderson: "It was great, it was so much fun!! I'm having so much fun out here."

Goodyear champions: 8
Goodyear podiums: 24
