RACE: Team Summit Point 12H notes

#84 - Dodge Neon wins Summit Point 12 Hour Endurance Race The Dodge Neon won the ITA Class dominating the 12 Hours at the Point held at Summit Point Motorsports Park, Summit Point West Virginia.

The race was held Saturday June 24-25th and ran from 12 Noon till 12 Midnight.

The drivers Joel Solly, Greg Meindl, Randy Papa and Edwin Robinson fueled by XS Energy Drink finished an astounding 27 laps ahead of the next car in class.

Twelve hours is a long race but with proper car preparation the Neon was up to the task.

Front wheel drive racecars can be hard on tires and the Team raced on Hoosier Tires which performed flawlessly throughout the race for the team.

Crew Chief Stas Balanevsky had calculated that with consistant lap times the car would beat the old team best lap count and could complete 430 laps.

Even with an unscheduled pit-stop to replace an alternator belt at the 7 hour mark, the team still magaged to complete 427 laps when the checkered flag fell.

In the end consistant clean driving and expert team work in the pit brought this win home for the team.

The Team is already planning for the next endurance race and plans to defend their title at next years' 12 Hour.
