Long Road Racing announces new sponsor, G3 Systems.
Raleigh, NC (January 23, 2003) -- Long Road Racing and G3 Systems team up together in the 2003 season for a winning combination. Driver, Tom Long will run the SCCA Showroom Stock C prepared, G3 Systems/Kumho Tires #76 Honda Civic Si, in the South East National Division. Plans for the team this year are set on winning the "Triple Crown", consisting of the SE Division Title, Kohler June Sprints winner, and Valvoline Runoffs winner. "We have been developing this team over the past two years, setting high expectations every year. This would be a great goal to reach this year with our new sponsor, G3 Systems," says Long. "We came into this aiming our expectations high, and came up with the SARRC Championship and NCR Regional Rookie of the Year in 2001. In 2002, it was a developmental year, learning to adjust to the National level, but still managed to be very successful." Last year Long raced in 5 National races, finishing on the podium in all 5, and managing a top 10 finish at the end of season Championship, the Valvoline Runoffs, finishing 7th.
The 2003 season kick off was in Sebring, FL, January 5th, with Tom earning his first National pole, and win. Backing that up the next weekend at Moroso with a solid 2nd place. "I'm really ecstatic for this strong start at the beginning of the season, and I'm sure we will be able to carry this momentum all the way through the year. I want to [IMAGE]thank G3 Systems and Kumho Tires for their support this year, it's been really terrific," says Long.
