LEXINGTON, OH (October 2nd, 2000)--Larry DuLude races into the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Saturday, looking to add the Valvoline Runoffs (National Championship trophy to his collection.

DuLude has already won his second consecutive PPG Neon Challenge championship in 2000, and he'll be racing his #71 Dodge Neon in the Showroom Stock C class, one of the most competitive at the Runoffs.

"It would cap off the season to win the Runoffs with the Neon", DuLude said recently. "But it will be difficult. The rules give the competition much better suspensions, so we'll have to be smooth and not make any mistakes. We've been fortunate to get tremendous support from our sponsors, Permatex, Fast Orange Hand Cleaner, and Zing.com, so we'd like to take them to Victory Circle at Mid-Ohio".

Even before the race, Fast Orange will be popular at the track, as DuLude will be distributing samples of the product to the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) volunteer corner workers at the event.

"Without the workers volunteering their time, we couldn't race", DuLude said, "so we're happy to give them a little something back, especially a great product like Fast Orange."

In addition, DuLude's team will be posting photos from the Runoffs at Zing.com starting Tuesday October 3. "For those who can't attend the Runoffs, they can see the event through the eyes of the Internet at Zing.com", said DuLude. "Just go to Zing.com and use the 'search' feature with the keyword "Valvoline." The Showroom Stock C race is scheduled for 1:40 PM on Saturday, October 7th, and will be televised live on the Speedvision network.

With the 2000 season drawing to a close, DuLude is already looking forward to next season. Daimler-Chrysler has announced that it has cancelled the Neon Challenge series for 2001, so DuLude is investigating other options. He plans to run an SCCA Pro Spec Racer at the Dodge Dealers/Burnham 200 at Lime Rock on October 14th, trying the purpose-built sports car for the first time.

"It will be fun to drive a Spec Racer", said DuLude, but the first priority is to win the Runoffs. Adding the Runoffs trophy to our Neon Challenge collection would make this season the ultimate".
