Washington, DC: The Washington DC Region of the Sports Car Club of America announced today that Shoney's Inn of Winchester would be the official race hotel for the 2002 Racing season. The Region races at nearby Summit Point nine times each year and each event brings more than 1,000 participants to the Charlestown-Winchester area.

On each SCCA weekend, Shoney's Inn of Winchester will be offering all SCCA members a 20% discount on rooms and will be providing the Region with one free room that will be awarded to the Region's volunteer race officials. "We are very happy to partner with Shoney's Inn of Winchester in bringing this discount to our members," said Don Caldwell, Regional Executive. To receive the discount, SCCA members will need to mention the discount at check-in.

For the 2002 season, the discount will be available for both of the Region's drivers' schools, the Capitol National, the 12 Hours at the Point and all of the MARRS Championship events held at Summit Point Raceway.
